Particulars

Yasuo Wada was a Japanese radio and television announcer based in Fukuoka, best known as a longtime personality on KBC Radio (Kyushu Asahi Broadcasting). He joined KBC as an announcer in 1980 after graduating from Seinan Gakuin University, and over the following decades became one of the station's most familiar voices, providing play-by-play commentary for professional baseball, marathons, golf, judo, and other sports broadcasts.

On radio, Wada hosted a number of popular wide programs, including 'Sawada Koji and Yasuo Wada's Radio Kong' and 'Bikkuri! Power Shovel', and from 2008 appeared on the station's long-running morning program 'PAO~N'. In April 2023 Wada became a freelance announcer while continuing to serve as the Monday personality of 'PAO~N'. He withdrew from the program in May 2026 due to illness and died on October 22, 2026, at the age of 68. He was remembered by colleagues for his strong professional pride and his warm, well-paced delivery on air.
