Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, was a Nigerian actor, screenwriter, producer and director who became one of the most recognisable figures in Yoruba-language cinema. Born in Ilaro, Ogun State, he worked as an auto mechanic at the Ogun State Water Corporation for about 13 years before combining that job with acting from 1981, eventually switching to performing full time in 1994 as Nigeria's home-video industry was expanding.

Over a career spanning more than four decades, Hassan appeared in over 300 Yoruba-language films, including Owo Blow, Omo Ghetto, Tenant of the House, Bank Alert and Anikulapo, in which he played the Alaafin of Oyo. His performance in Owo Blow earned him the Best Actor of the Year award at the 1997 Movie Awards, and he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the 2023 Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards for his role in Anikulapo.

Hassan won numerous awards and was widely praised by colleagues as a pillar of Yoruba cinema. He adopted the name Ogogo from a family praise name long before he became famous. He died on 23 August 2026 at the age of 66 after battling cancer.
