Particulars

Simon Andriesz was a British banker and whistleblower who uncovered evidence of financial links between US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. He had served as a senior executive at BGC Partners, the international financial brokerage founded and led by Lutnick before he joined the Trump administration. During his time at the firm he gathered documents on various transactions involving Lutnick, including an attempt to do business with Prince Andrew in 2013. In early 2026 he passed his findings on the Lutnick-Epstein links to Britain's Financial Conduct Authority, the FBI and other bodies, and also alleged irregularities at BGC related to bonus funds. Andriesz publicly described the pressure he faced after coming forward, telling the BBC he had been under tremendous pressure while insisting that fighting for justice was in his DNA. He later voiced deep disappointment with the FCA's handling of his case, saying it had put him through a real ordeal. His revelations cast doubt on Lutnick's public statements about his relationship with Epstein and prompted questions before the US House Oversight Committee. He died in Thailand on 23 September 2026.
