Samuel Monroe Jr. was an American actor who built a career in 1990s film and television. He appeared in the acclaimed crime drama Menace II Society (1993), the horror anthology Tales from the Hood (1995), the heist film Set It Off (1996), and the comedy-drama The Players Club (1998). He also made television appearances in series including Out All Night (1993) and NYPD Blue (1996).

Born on November 28, 1973, Monroe worked steadily as a character actor during the 1990s, often in films that explored urban life and Black American experiences. His roles in these well-regarded productions made him a recognizable presence in the era's cinema.

Monroe died on August 27, 2026, after being hospitalized following a battle with meningitis. His family announced his passing, and he was survived by his three children.
