Rogério Valença was a Brazilian forró eletrônico singer born in Garanhuns, Pernambuco. He became known as a vocalist for the band Calcinha Preta, one of Brazil's most popular forró groups, joining its lineup in 1999 during a period of national expansion for the band. He also performed with the bands Caviar com Rapadura and Raio da Silibrina, the latter of which he was still performing with at the time of his death.
Valença died at age 55 in Aracaju, Sergipe, after treating a kidney failure and awaiting a kidney transplant. He was survived by his husband, with whom he had lived for 20 years. His death was mourned by the band Raio da Silibrina, which published a note of gratitude for his contributions.
