Peter Katsis began his career in the mid-1980s as a talent buyer and promoter in Chicago, booking shows at venues like The Metro and The Riviera Theatre. At age 23, he discovered and managed the industrial band Ministry, marking the start of his management career. He later worked as an A&R executive at Trax Precision Records before transitioning fully into artist management and relocating to Los Angeles in 1989.

Katsis became a partner at The Firm, a major entertainment management company, where he managed the careers of numerous high-profile artists including the Backstreet Boys, Korn, Enrique Iglesias, Limp Bizkit, and Audioslave. One of his most notable achievements was producing Audioslave's historic 2005 concert in Havana, Cuba, the first by an American rock band in the country, which drew over 70,000 attendees.

After The Firm, Katsis co-founded the management and production company Prospect Park. Since 2009, he managed artists including the Smashing Pumpkins, Jane's Addiction, Morrissey, Liz Phair, and Bush. At the time of his death, he was a partner at YM&U Group in Beverly Hills.
