Departures of note

On the night of December 10, 1950, Peeter Pedaja hijacked a motorcycle while brandishing a water pistol near Gympie, Queensland, then forced a car to stop between Landsborough and Nambour, demanded money from the driver, and later was arrested by Queensland police.

In court, Peeter Pedaja said he meant no harm, claimed he wanted material for a book about his Australian adventures, and said he was inspired to do something unusual by the film The Kissing Bandit starring Frank Sinatra.
