Particulars

Patrícia Poncini was a Brazilian municipal politician who served as a city councilor (vereadora) of Boituva, a municipality in the interior of São Paulo state, for two terms between 2001 and 2008. As an elected local legislator she was a recognizable public figure within her city. After leaving office she continued to work in the community, employed at the Serviço de Obras Sociais (SOS) de Boituva, a local social-welfare service. On 17 September 2026 she was stabbed by a male co-worker while on the job at the SOS; she was taken to hospital in critical condition and died of her injuries. Another female employee was also wounded in the attack, which was partly captured by a surveillance camera. The suspect fled the scene and had not been located at the time of reporting.
