Departures of note

In a 1924 Bears game against the Columbus Tigers, Oscar Knop intercepted a pass, was turned around, and began running toward his own end zone before teammate Ed Healey tackled him at the goal line. Joey Sternaman recalled in 1991 that the Tiger team watched as Knop ran the wrong way and that he could not hear Sternaman yelling after him.

The following year, Oscar Knop joined the Bears and Red Grange on their barnstorming tour.
