Particulars
Olivia Oras was a Finnish influencer and content creator who began building her online presence at the age of 14, gaining a following that brought her sudden, early fame. Three years later she made her own documentary, The Perfect Selfie, exploring the pressures and consequences of that rapid rise to public attention.
Struggling with the anxiety that her online fame caused, she moved to Amsterdam in 2017 and worked as a waitress to step away from the spotlight. After a traumatic event, she returned to Helsinki, where she developed addictions to alcohol and sleeping pills and spent time in rehabilitation in 2022.
Later, after her father was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis, she founded Oras Respiratus Ry, a non-profit supporting research into respiratory diseases. She also managed several companies focused on health, wellness, and artificial intelligence while continuing to attend events and photo sessions.
Olivia Oras died at the age of 27 during a cosmetic surgery procedure in a private clinic in Helsinki, where she lost consciousness under anesthesia.
