Particulars

Nedra Talley Ross was born on June 26, 1946 in New York City and grew up in a musical family. She began singing with her cousins, Veronica "Ronnie" Spector and Estelle Bennett, forming the trio that would become The Ronettes. The Ronettes rose to fame in the early 1960s under the production of Phil Spector, delivering iconic hits such as "Be My Baby" and "Baby, I Love You," and becoming emblematic of the girl‑group era. After the group disbanded, Talley stepped away from the spotlight, marrying and raising a family while occasionally performing in reunion shows and preserving the legacy of the Ronettes. She passed away on April 27, 2026 at the age of 80, leaving behind a lasting influence on pop music and the memory of one of its most celebrated vocal groups.
