Michele Sensi Contugi was an Italian-Ecuadorian entrepreneur and politician, born into a Tuscan family, who built a prominent business and political career in Ecuador. He was widely known in the country as a businessman and held senior public roles, including serving as Ecuador's Minister of Government, a position he assumed in April 2024, and as president of the national intelligence agency.

His political appointment came amid a reshuffle of the Ecuadorian government, where he took over the Ministry of Government portfolio. His career combined private enterprise with high-level public service, making him a recognizable figure in Ecuadorian political and business circles.

Sensi Contugi died at age 44 in a helicopter crash in Kenya's Samburu National Reserve, one of seven tourists killed when the aircraft went down near Mount Ololokwe. His wife, Stephany Vasconez, was also aboard the helicopter.
