Particulars

Maurizio Cremonini, born in Brescia, devoted his life to the growth of young players and instructors through the teaching of basketball. He held a central role in the technical structure of the Italian Basketball Federation (FIP), overseeing the training and development of the minibasket sector for more than three decades. His approach went beyond technical skills, emphasizing the educational value of the game and the responsibility of those who teach. His work extended beyond Italy's borders through projects shared with FIBA, the international basketball federation, making him a reference point internationally as well. He died of a heart attack at age 70 on the night between 18 and 19 October 2026, mourned by the FIP, whose president Giovanni Petrucci and the Federal Council paid tribute to his professionalism, irony and humility.
