Mathilde Favier was the director of public relations at Dior Couture for fourteen years, where she was responsible for receiving and dressing celebrities from around the world. She was a prominent and influential figure in the Parisian fashion world and high society, known for her impeccable taste, elegant lifestyle, and wide circle of friends that included Carla Bruni and other leading figures of the Tout-Paris.

She grew up in Paris's 16th arrondissement, the sister of Victoire de Castellane, director of Dior Joaillerie, and Pauline Favier-Hénin, founder of the Bloom Paris brand. Her uncle Gilles Dufour, a close associate of Karl Lagerfeld, helped her secure an early internship in the fashion house, setting her on a lifelong path in the industry.

In 2024 she published the book "Mathilde à Paris" with Flammarion, written with journalist Frédérique Dedet, as a tribute to her mother. She also maintained a public social media presence documenting her life as a socialite, between haute couture shows, high-society gatherings, and her love of decoration and art.

She died on 17 August 2026 in a road accident near Airvault, France, alongside her companion, film producer Nicolas Altmayer.
