Maria Izabel Rodrigues was a Brazilian educator and founder of the Dom Bosco Educational Group in São Luís, Maranhão. In 1958, together with fellow teacher Maria de Lourdes Aroso Mendes, she established a small kindergarten that over the years grew into a substantial educational institution comprising Colégio Dom Bosco and the Centro Universitário Dom Bosco (UNDB).
Her work helped shape private education in the state of Maranhão, building an institution that served generations of students. As founder and educator, she was widely respected within the local academic community, and her death prompted the suspension of classes at the institution's campuses.
She died on 27 August 2026 in São Luís, and her funeral was held at the UNDB Renascença campus, where the academic community gathered to honor her legacy.
