Maksym "Max" Oseredchuk was born on November 4, 1995, in Vuhledar, Donetsk region, Ukraine. After earning a master's degree in business economics from the University of Vinnytsia, he initially worked in logistics before dedicating himself to journalism during Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022. Max became a key figure at ABC News, serving as a producer and driver, guiding news crews through dangerous frontline areas with skill and humor. Known for his calm demeanor and deep commitment to his country, Max later also worked with the New York Times in similar capacities. Several months before his death, he was drafted into Ukraine's 34th Marine Brigade. On June 24, 2026, Max was killed in a Russian drone strike while on military duty. He was 30 years old and is survived by his wife, Kateryna, and their daughter, Maria. Max's dedication to journalism and his homeland left a lasting impact on his colleagues and the broader community he served.
