Luiz Antônio Silva was a Brazilian pediatrician who became a familiar face to viewers in the Federal District through his long-running role on the DF1 news program. For a decade he presented the 'Pergunte ao Doutor' segment, answering viewers' questions and promoting disease prevention and health awareness among the local population.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, his segment took on particular importance, helping residents of the Federal District understand the virus, clarify doubts about transmission and asymptomatic cases, and reduce the risks of contagion. His accessible, reassuring approach made him a trusted source of medical information for the region.

In February 2026, Silva was diagnosed with a brain tumor. He underwent surgery to remove it, but the tumor could not be fully removed, and he continued treatment before succumbing to the disease. He died on September 1, 2026, at the age of 63.
