Lucien Smith was a renowned multidisciplinary artist who rose to prominence in the 2010s art world. Born on April 15, 1989, in Los Angeles to artist Terrence Sanders-Smith and fashion designer Vivien Ramsay, he attended Santa Monica High School and later graduated from New York's Cooper Union with a bachelor's degree in fine arts in 2011. His thesis project, 'Imagined Nostalgia,' caught the attention of dealer Jeanne Greenberg Rohatyn, who began showing his work at Salon 94.
