Lucia Sisic was a Viennese beauty queen who was crowned Miss Austria in 2024. Born with a heart valve defect, she underwent seven heart procedures over her lifetime, including one at age 13 during which she was revived, an experience she later described as touch and go. She spoke openly about her health struggles, saying she did not want people's pity and hoped that sharing her story would give courage to others facing similar challenges.

Her most recent procedure took place in winter 2025, after which she expressed joy at the prospect of a break from further treatment. Her condition shaped her childhood, causing her to miss out on activities such as sports weeks, which she said made her strong. Around three weeks before her death she shared holiday pictures from Bosnia and Herzegovina, where her parents have roots in the Bosanska Posavina region.

Tributes following her death came from family, the Miss Austria organization, Mister Austria Christopher Dengg, and the Croatian cultural community in Austria, which described her as a source of pride to her parents and the wider Croatian community. The circumstances surrounding her death were not disclosed.
