Particulars

Kevin Bleyer was an American television comedy writer best known for his long tenure on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, where he worked on more than a thousand episodes and specials and earned four Emmy Awards. He began his television career as a writer and producer on Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher from 1996 to 2002 and later wrote for Dennis Miller's program before joining The Daily Show in 2005, also receiving a Writers Guild of America Award for his work.

Bleyer contributed to President Barack Obama's addresses, including the president's comedic appearances at the White House Correspondents' Association dinners, and reported from Iraq for The Daily Show's Operation: Silent Thunder segments. He authored Me the People: One Man's Selfless Quest to Rewrite the Constitution, co-wrote the bestselling Earth: The Book with fellow Daily Show writers, and co-authored How to Sweet-Talk a Shark with Governor Bill Richardson.

A frequent NPR commentator and an early Huffington Post contributor, Bleyer also created the first topical political satire program in Central Asia as a USAID consultant. He died in a car crash at the age of 54.
