Vincent Belorgey, professionally known as Kavinsky, was a French electronic musician and DJ who rose to prominence in the late 2000s with his retro‑futuristic synthwave sound. His 2010 single “Nightcall,” featuring Lovefoxxx, gained worldwide attention after being featured as the opening track of Nicolas Winding Refn’s 2011 film Drive, cementing his status in the global electronic music scene. Kavinsky released several EPs and the album "OutRun," contributing to the popular revival of 1980s‑style electronic music and influencing a new generation of producers. He was found dead at his home in Paris on July 28, 2026, at the age of 50.

Throughout his career, Kavinsky performed at major festivals and clubs, collaborating with artists such as SebastiAn and Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter. His work remains a staple of the synthwave genre, and “Nightcall” continues to be recognized for its cinematic impact and enduring popularity.
