Particulars

Juliana Maria Teixeira da Costa was born on 3 February 1983 in Jaguariaíva, Paraná. She studied social assistance and later moved to the Vale do Ribeira region, where she built her professional and political career.

She entered politics inspired by her father, a former health secretary and vice mayor, and was elected the first female vice mayor of Ribeira in 2024. Prior to that, she served as the municipality's health secretary and chief of staff during the first term of mayor Ari do Carmo Santos.

In 2026, Juliana was suspended from her vice‑mayoral and secretarial positions after a public prosecutor alleged she diverted public funds to pay for a so‑called "amarração amorosa" (love‑binding ritual). While traveling to a campaign event for a state deputy candidate, her car suffered a brake failure and she died in a crash on the SP‑250 highway.
