Judy Markey was a beloved Chicago radio personality who co-hosted the daily 'Kathy and Judy Show' with Kathy O'Malley on WGN-AM 720 from 1989 to 2009, with the show returning as a weekly Saturday programme from 2013 to 2017. Before her radio career, she was a columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times and also wrote for The New York Times and magazines including Cosmopolitan. She authored several books, including The Daddy Clock and How to Survive Your High School Reunion and Other Mid-Life Crises, and was named one of Chicago's 'One Hundred Most Influential Women' by Crain's Chicago Business. Markey died on September 11, 2026, at the age of 82, in Switzerland after choosing a voluntary assisted death, with her family by her side.
