Departures of note

José Antônio Coelho was a Brazilian lawyer and politician who served as mayor of Socorro do Piauí, a municipality in the state of Piauí. In addition to his political career, he practiced law and was a member of the Ordem dos Advogados do Brasil, Seccional Piauí (OAB-PI).

He died on 26 October 2026 after being attacked by a swarm of bees while working on a farm he owned. His death was confirmed by the municipality of Socorro do Piauí, and the OAB-PI issued a note of condolence.
