Particulars
Joni Lamb, born Joni Trammell in 1960 in Colleyville, Texas, grew up in Greenville, South Carolina, and entered Christian ministry in the mid‑1980s. She married Marcus Lamb in 1982 and together they began broadcasting Bible teachings, eventually purchasing a television station in Montgomery, Alabama, before moving to Dallas in 1990.
In 1998 the Lambs launched the Daystar Television Network, which grew into one of the world’s largest faith‑based broadcasters. As co‑founder, president, and executive producer, Joni oversaw programming, hosted the daily talk show “Joni Table Talk,” and co‑hosted “Ministry Now!,” helping the network reach billions of homes worldwide.
After Marcus’s death in 2021, Joni continued to lead Daystar, marrying Doug Weiss in 2023. In early May 2026 she suffered a back injury that worsened her health, and she died on May 7, 2026, at age 65. She was survived by her husband, three children, and left a legacy of Christian broadcasting.
