Joseph Doering, known professionally as Joe Doering, was born on April 16, 1982, in Chicago, Illinois. He became a prominent figure in professional wrestling, competing in various promotions around the world. Doering was trained at the Can-Am Wrestling School and made his debut in 2004. He wrestled for Border City Wrestling before moving on to larger promotions.
Doering gained significant recognition in All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW), where he became a two-time Triple Crown Heavyweight Champion and a four-time World Tag Team Champion. His time in AJPW saw him become a key member of stables such as Voodoo Murders and Evolution. He also had a notable run in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), later known as Impact Wrestling, where he was a two-time Impact World Tag Team Champion and a key member of the Violent By Design stable.
In 2010, Doering briefly wrestled for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) in their developmental territory, Florida Championship Wrestling, under the ring name Drake Brewer. However, he was released later that year.
Doering faced significant health challenges later in his career. In February 2016, he was diagnosed with a brain tumor and underwent surgery. The tumor returned in 2022, leading to a second surgery and the development of ataxia, which affected his mobility. In November 2025, he was diagnosed with a third brain tumor and entered hospice care. Joe Doering passed away on June 26, 2026, at the age of 44.
