Joan Blackman was an American actress who appeared in numerous films and television productions during the 1950s through 1970s. She gained recognition for her roles opposite Elvis Presley, playing Maile Duval in the 1961 musical film 'Blue Hawaii' and Rose Grogan in 'Kid Galahad' the following year.

Her film career included appearances with Dean Martin in 'Career' (1959) and Jerry Lewis in 'Visit to a Small Planet' (1960), as well as roles in 'The Great Impostor', 'Twilight of Honor', and 'Macon County Line'. On television, she was a regular cast member of the primetime serial 'Peyton Place' during its 1965-1966 season, playing Marion Fowler.

Blackman also made guest appearances on various television series including 'Bonanza', 'I Spy', 'Gunsmoke', and 'Perry Mason'. She was born in San Francisco, California, and began her entertainment career as a singer before transitioning to acting.
