Jean Manga Onguéné was a Cameroonian footballer who spent his entire playing career as a forward for Canon Yaoundé, becoming one of the great figures of African football. He was named African Footballer of the Year in 1980, the first Cameroonian to receive the honour. With Canon Yaoundé he won six Cameroonian league titles and three African Cup of Champions Clubs titles, in 1971, 1978 and 1980, as well as the African Cup Winners' Cup in 1979.
