Particulars

Giuseppe Angiolini, known as Beppe Angiolini and internationally as "Sugar," was a central figure in the Italian fashion industry and a pioneer of modern luxury distribution strategies. He founded the Sugar retail brand in Arezzo in the late 1970s, transforming the store into a cultural destination and helping turn his provincial hometown into a creative crossroads. He was also an authoritative voice of Camera Buyer Italia and worked as an artistic director and consultant.

Angiolini was regarded as one of the most influential and beloved buyers in Italy over the past four decades, a talent scout who anticipated shifts in taste before they became global phenomena and a bridge between designers, the market and the public. He was a regular presence at Milan and Paris fashion weeks, known for his analytical eye for fabrics, cuts and the commercial viability of collections.

He maintained close collaborations with designers, journalists and magazine directors, including a historic bond with designer Ermanno Scervino. Angiolini died at his home in Arezzo at the age of 73 after a long illness, having been due to turn 74 on 5 December.
