Frank Alamo retired from the music business when he married in 1969 and thereafter worked as a photographer and later as a manager in the automobile industry.

In 1983 he chased a blonde girl driving a funny car, was taken to a factory, and bought the Dallas Jeep Company plant; he sold the plant in 1996 to resume singing performances, but never recovered success.
