Florence Anthony was an American gossip columnist, syndicated radio host, television contributor, and author who broke barriers in entertainment journalism. A graduate of Howard University, she began her career as a publicist for prominent athletes including Muhammad Ali, Michael Spinks, and Larry Holmes before transitioning to entertainment news in the mid-1980s.

Anthony made history as the first African-American reporter to work on the gossip column of the New York Post and the first African-American to write a column in The National Examiner. She became a recognized expert on celebrities and appeared as a contributor on numerous television programs including Inside Edition, The Insider, and Entertainment Tonight. Her radio presence included nationally syndicated shows reaching over three million listeners daily across 20 radio markets.

Throughout the 1990s and beyond, Anthony appeared on major talk shows and news programs, establishing herself as a prominent voice in celebrity journalism. She also worked as an author and maintained her media presence through multiple platforms until her death from cancer at age 74.
