Felipe Staiti

Felipe Staiti was an Argentine guitarist and vocalist, co‑founder of the rock band Enanitos Verdes, celebrated for his contributions to their early success.
Particulars
Felipe Staiti was born in Mendoza, Argentina, around 1962, and began his musical career in the late 1970s. In 1979 he co‑founded the rock group Enanitos Verdes, serving as lead guitarist and backing vocalist alongside Marciano Cantero and Daniel Piccolo.
Staiti helped shape the band's sound on their early recordings, including the debut album Los Enanitos Verdes (1984) and subsequent releases such as Contrarreloj (1986) and Carrousel (1988). After the group briefly split in 1989, he rejoined the reunion in 1992 and continued to perform and record with them through the 2000s, remaining one of the last original members still active on stage.
In 2022 he assumed front‑man duties following Cantero’s death, and he continued touring until health complications forced his hospitalization. Felipe Staiti died on 13 April 2026 in Mendoza at the age of 64, after a bacterial infection contracted in Mexico worsened by pre‑existing conditions.
