Fabio Grossi was an Italian actor, director and playwright born in Rome. He made his theatre debut in 1977 in L'uomo, la bestia e la virtù directed by Edmo Fenoglio, and went on to work with directors including Luca Ronconi. In the 1980s he moved into cinema, appearing in Italian comedy films such as Mia moglie torna a scuola, I fichissimi, Pierino contro tutti and W la foca, and later in more serious works including Vajont, Fatti della banda della Magliana and Paolo Sorrentino's L'amico di famiglia.

On television he worked on programmes by Nanni Loy and Renzo Arbore and appeared in fiction series such as Le ragazze di Piazza di Spagna, Commesse 2 and Un ciclone in famiglia. From 2000 he devoted himself mainly to theatre direction, staging works including Ecce Homo, a Passion play inspired by a thirteenth-century Umbrian laude, and directing Shakespeare and Pirandello productions.

He was the lifelong partner of actor Leo Gullotta, with whom he collaborated on many stage productions, and whom he married civilly in 2019 after more than forty years together. Grossi died in Rome in August 2026 at the age of 68.
