David Owori was born on 23 September 1998 in Tororo, Uganda. He began his football career with Nsambya Young Stars Academy before progressing through Wembley Soccer Academy and Lukuli United. In 2016, he joined Vipers SC, where he featured in both youth and senior squads before moving to SC Villa in 2018.

At SC Villa, Owori established himself as a versatile squad member capable of playing across midfield and defence. He spent time in Europe between 2021 and 2023, playing for Spanish side Vélez CF and Swedish club Utsiktens BK in the Superettan. He returned to SC Villa in February 2023 and extended his contract until January 2027. Owori was instrumental in helping SC Villa win the Uganda Premier League title in 2023–24, their first championship in 20 years.

Owori represented Uganda at youth level throughout his career. Known for his work ethic, tactical discipline, and versatility, he primarily operated as a central midfielder but could also play as a right back or wide midfielder. He died on 5 August 2026 at age 27 from injuries sustained during a beating near his home in Kampala.
