Caitlin O'Heaney was an American actress known for lead role in 1980s series Tales of the Gold Monkey and for appearing in He Knows You’re Alone.

Caitlin O'Heaney, born Kathleen Heaney in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, grew up in Whitefish Bay and earned a full scholarship to the Juilliard School at 17, where she trained in the Drama Division. After an off‑Broadway debut, she understudied Katharine Hepburn on Broadway and performed in numerous regional productions.
She broke into television with the Norman Lear sitcom Apple Pie in 1978 and later became the female lead, Sarah Stickney White, on ABC’s adventure series Tales of the Gold Monkey (1982‑84). O'Heaney also starred as Snow White in The Charmings, appeared in the horror film He Knows You’re Alone (Tom Hanks’ debut), and had roles in Woody Allen’s Zelig and The Purple Rose of Cairo, among other movies and TV shows through the early 1990s.
After a quieter period, she returned to film with The Emperor’s Club (2002) and continued acting in independent projects such as Brooklyn Lobster (2005) and Asylum Seekers (2007). She completed the thriller Late Phases in 2013. O'Heaney died on 30 May 2026 at age 73, remembered for her versatile stage work and memorable television performances.
