Bou Meng was a Cambodian artist who became one of only seven known adult survivors of the Khmer Rouge's S-21 torture center in Phnom Penh. Born in 1941 into a peasant family in Kampong Cham, he studied painting at a local wat and later worked as a painter for cinema theaters.
