Robert Victor “Bobby” Tambling (18 September 1941 – June 2026) was an English professional footballer best known for his prolific spell as a forward with Chelsea. He joined the club as a fifteen‑year‑old in 1957, made his debut in 1959 and became Chelsea’s leading scorer for five seasons in the 1960s, finishing with 202 goals in all competitions, a club record that stood for four decades.
