Arnaud Denis was a French theater actor and director whose career was cut short by a catastrophic medical procedure. In July 2023 he underwent surgery for an inguinal hernia with a polypropylene mesh implant, after which he was left severely debilitated, enduring unrelenting pain that he publicly described as a series of medical mistreatments.

His ordeal became a public campaign, with Denis giving voice to his suffering on social media and ultimately choosing to end his life through euthanasia at a facility in Namur, Belgium, on 22 September 2026 at the age of 43. His death was confirmed to the AFP by his lawyer, Philippe Courtois.
