Departures of note

Andy Williams was an American musician and professional wrestler. He co-founded the Buffalo-based metalcore band Every Time I Die in 1998 alongside guitarist Jordan Buckley and drummer Michael Novak, serving as the group's rhythm guitarist on every release throughout its 24-year run. The band released nine studio albums, including their final record Radical in 2021, and earned acclaim for their intense live shows and evolving sound before splitting in early 2022.

Alongside his music career, Williams pursued professional wrestling. He trained in Ontario and later with Josh Barnett, and from 2015 worked the independent circuit. In 2017 he formed the tag team The Butcher and the Blade with Jesse Guilmette, and the duo debuted in All Elite Wrestling in late 2019, where Williams performed under the ring name The Butcher. He balanced his wrestling career with his music, and after Every Time I Die disbanded he committed fully to wrestling with AEW.

Williams died on September 5, 2026, at age 48, after collapsing at the end of a tag match in Philadelphia. He was widely remembered by colleagues across the wrestling and music worlds as a kind, funny, and deeply talented figure.
