Alexey Leonov performed a 12‑minute spacewalk on Voskhod 2 on 18 March 1965, remaining outside the spacecraft for 12 minutes and nine seconds and attached by a 4.8‑metre tether.

At the end of the walk his spacesuit inflated, and he opened a valve to bleed off pressure, allowing him to re‑enter the capsule.
