Alan Jones was an Australian racing driver who became the 1980 Formula One World Champion driving for Williams, the first driver to win the title with that team and only the second Australian to be crowned world champion after Sir Jack Brabham. Across a Formula One career spanning 1975 to 1986, he won 12 Grands Prix and achieved 24 podium finishes in 117 races, also winning the 1978 Can-Am championship.
